I might be being a bit thick here, but when you take out a mobile contract and then cancel it, do you not have to return the phone as well? Otherwise what's stopping everyone doing this and collecting every new phone on the market?
Or maybe I'm just pee'd off because my contract isn't up till April so I can't get an iPhone
The reason you normally have to return the phone is it's subsidised - the cost of the phone is recovered over the length of the contract. With the iphone you buy it outright so they can't really demand it back as it's yours.
