Folks, I really need your help: Last week I bought a MacBook Pro and installed the Parallel Software. The Apple store in San Diego was so nice to me that I installed the software on the spot at the store. Everything work OK. I was able to pick up wireless connection in the store. The new WindowXP-SP2 works very fast with the Parallel/Window XP combo, I was very pleased. It was just cool to say the least. I have Road-Runer net-work at home with a Dell Router, and everything works. I took the Macbook home and the WindowXP picks up the wireless via Internet explorer just as I was able to do so at the Apple store. I was a happy man, but that did not last long. The next morning, I turned the machine on, started the Parallel/WindowXP combo, and I was not able to pick up anything. I connected the Macbook Pro directly hot-wire into my Road-Runner modem, unplugged everything, and restarted everything. Nothing, I was not on-line. I then went to the Mac OX side and I had no problems getting on-line with the Sarfari broswer. I felt tlike an idoit, and took the MacBook pro back to the Apple store. As soon as I started the Macbook pro and the Parallel/windowXP combo, the Internet Explorer picked up the signals right the way at the Apple store. I felt like a fool to say the least, because there was nothing wrong. On the way home, I stopped by a coffe shop where I can get free wireless signals, and my Macbook pro worked. There was no problem there also. I then went home and started the Macbook pro, and guess what? No internet connection. During the next four days I became obsessed with this mystery. The long store short: I cannot get on-line no matter what! I uninstalled/reinstalled the Parallel/Windowxp software three times. I called Road-runner's customer's service three times. I wrote Parallel for help twice and received two versions of instructions on choosing the wireless/wire adaptor and how to make it work, and failed. I called Parallel's customer's service and was on the phone with a nice guy- Craig- for two and half hours. Nothing works! Paraallel finally just asked me to wait for the next Parallel software coming out soon. The bottom-line: My Macbook Pro with the Parallel/WindowXP combo works fine everywhere else excep at my home with Road Runner- Dell Router-Mac G5- Macbook pro config. I simply cannot get on-line either wirelessly nor by hard land-line. But I had no problem getting on-line with my MacbookPro using Sarafari either wirelessly nor by land-line. I was thinking about calling a priest and do an exorcism on the Macbook Pro, but I thought someone out there may have the same problem and perhaps a solution for me. Any help will be very much appreciated! Thanks!
