Last weekend I bought an Ecobee Switch+ with built-in Alexa, which also works with Google assistant and Homekit compatible devices. Wanted to replace my 3 Philips HUE GU10 bulbs, HUE motion sensor and HUE remote switch in my bathroom. Thought it would be nice to have Alexa in my bathroom to listen some music while I'm in the bath or get the news and weather when I'm getting ready for work.

Currently using Siri on my iPhone and Watch and Google home mini to control everything with voice, and a couple of HUE remotes so everyone can control all the lights manually.

The Switch+ is a really nice product. Built-in motion sensor, light sensor, temperature sensor, night light, and Alexa. Sounds great for a little speaker that can fit in a wall switch. Took me about 30 min to install and set it up.

Here is the cons ; First of all, I speak french and Alexa is not available yet in french on the Ecobee Switch+ which I didn't knew. Wanted to switch my Google home mini for a Echo Dot, but I don't want to have to talk to it in both english and french or only in english. I talked with a tech from Ecobee and they told me Amazon is working on an update to bring Alexa in french to the Switch+. Fine. But here is the worst part : you cant dim the lights. With my first setup using HUE, motion sensor would turn on the lights in neutral white from 6am to 10pm, warm white from 10pm to 1am, and then warmer white dimmed to like 20% from 1am to 6am. Told myself I could deal with warm white all day long, as long as I can dim it during the night so I wont get blinded when I get in. Tried to put back my HUE GU10 bulbs, but when I get in the bathroom the lights turns on warm white at 100%, then couple seconds after it senses another movement, it switch to neutral white or dimmed like I set it up. And then if you turn off manually the switch, no more power on the HUE bulbs so when you get back in it all start over again. BUT you can set the motion sensor to turn on the ceiling lights from like 7am to 10pm, and set another smart light with Homekit to turn it on from 10pm to 7am. I dont have plenty of wall plugs in my bathroom so I cant add a second light.

Unfortunately in my case I will have to go back to HUE and will try to return or sell the Ecobee Switch+ or maybe figure out somewhere else in my place. I would recommand it if you want to use it as a motion sensor and temperature sensor to control other Homekit devices, or for a ceiling light that you dont have to dim.

Hopefully it can help and answers some of your questions guys !
