I wish I could provide evidence, but my phone was just lying on my couch and I got a text. It immediately opened right up to the text app. I didn't touch it at all.

Is this a known bug?

Sounds like its possessed. Lol. Is there a possibility that you might have some type of VNC client installed? I don't know if that's possible or not.

this is a 4S exclusive feature. I'm surprised you don't know about it.

Read the title and thought I was going to read a thread about a phone spontaneously combusting. Disappointed.

It was most certainly locked, because the phone actually unlocked itself. I heard the sound. It went " -Tweet, Twee - CLICK " as in "half of a texting tone and unlocking sound.

Come on man, don't put a thread title that has nothing to do with what happened.

"my phone opened text app by itself" would have garnered less looks, but it would be more accurate.

I came in here expecting a phone that completely fell apart while just sitting there.

When someone sends an important text, iOS opens to the Messages app automatically.

iOS has had this feature since iOS 4.

I came in expecting you to have a Transformer iPhone. Disappointed.
