I have a new bootrom 3GS on the iOS 4 GM. I haven't been able to use it as a phone because it needs to be unlocked for my carrier. I want to unlock and jailbreak it.
Here is my plan:
Restore to a pre-jailbroken .IPSW from Pwnage tool, run the new Ultrasn0w, and viola.
Any flaws with this plan? I have nothing to lose, so why not try it?

Go for it your choice. I will wait for the dev-team serously they are working at record speed. Just give them a chance. We gave never had the ul before the jb to my knowledge. Relax go have a beer or a root beer.

I'm 16, so the former may just be out of the question.:)

Okay, I have a new plan. I saved my SHSHs with Cydia when I was on 3.1.3.
I am thinking, I will downgrade to 3.1.3, jailbreak, then install Ultrasn0w to unlock. My frimware would be 5.13.04, which is unlockable.
After that, I could update back to 4.0, and my iPhone will remain unlocked because of the baseband staying the same despite the restore. I don't need my phone jailbroken at this point in time.
