Look at these babys
I think Apple deserves to give me a new pair

What do you think??

Why? I don't think they deserve to just give you a pair of new iPod headphones, just because you haven't taken care of them.

well i have another pair that i use

i i still want to justify me use to Apple and have them send me a new pair (i dont think it will happen though)

You can buy those headphones for $10. I suggest you invest a few bucks in a new set.

And I don't think you deserve a new pair. Wear and tear is to be expected. The fact you wear yours through a war-zone id your own dilemma.

ohh wait
guess what everyone

they still work
wow
low quailty product on the outside
durable on the inside

Uh, it looks like you went rock climbing with those. I've still got the original set with my 3G iPod that work great and are fully intact.

I remember leaving the first pair of my lap and getting out of my neighbour's car.... not remembering. They fell out onto the ground in the snow and then over night cars ran over them numerously... when I realized that they could be outside I ran to look on the street and there they were.... all smushed and flat :(

do yourself a favor...ditch the apple earbuds and get something that actually sounds good.

I have to admit I have seen this problem before on two sets of iPod headphones. After a while the outside housing detaches and this happens. Apple seems to have remedied this by adding a plastic slider.

I wish I had my headphones still, I lost mine, right now I am shopping for a new pair. These look good:)Sony MDR-NC6 Noise Canceling Headphones

the apple ipod ones are RUBBISH! i hada pair that i wore when i first got my 3G ipod to make me look cool, but they started to disintegrate and the sound quality was terrible to i went to my shure ones = v nice!

I used my apple headphones for 2 years with no problems until I tried to clean them. I accidentally separated the driver on the left headphone. I loved those and it is sad to see my Ur headphones go away :(

I think the sound quality was good for my type of music. The Sony earbuds sounded boomy and flat to me in comparison.

I couldn't agree more.
Don't buy Apple one's the sound quality is awful. High frequencies are harsh and low frequencies just distort!

I have a pair of £30 Sony one's and they are unbelievable compared to the Apple ones.
I shall invest in some Shures when I can afford them.

LOL @ OP for using stock buds in the 1st place. Uh... yeah, right.

Sennheiser MX500 buds or KOSS KSC-75 clip-ons will rip those cheap stock buds to shreds.

my headphones from my 2G ipod looked like that after two years or so of thorough use (always pulling them taut to wrap them around the ipod+case, etc [not something i'd recommend, but hey, i was young and stupid]), a little bit at least...i tossed 'em and bought the apple in-ears; kept 'em when i upgraded to mini, then 5G, and they're still alive and sound great

first pair got ran over by my rear bike wheel. don't pick up the phone while riding. oops.

2nd pair i bought 'used' but sealed off the forums.

i can't even go 2hours+ with the apple ear buds, my ears start to hurt. bose triports are nice, but bulky at times.

I just found my Sennheiser earbuds that I'd bought 5 years ago. They sound much better than the iPod earbuds. I can't say that the bass tubes add any actual bass but the sound is tremendously more clear.

I'm just glad it wasn't because of toe jam. :D

And the moral of the story is, if you have a bunny, dont leave you buds lying around the hiz-ouse.
