My Prediction on the MacBook Release Date

The October 14th release date seems a little far off right now. If you look at Apple's authorized online retailers... most of them are already $999 after the manufacturer's rebate. Macconnection's offer expires today. Not sure about MacMall. So far, I only checked Macconnection.com and Macmall.com and they have the same deal. Should be released earlier

Also it isn't a manufacturers rebate it is their own rebate. You have to mail it to them.

Yep, MacMall, MacConnection, PCConnection, Amazon and a few others year ROUND have a rebate on most Apple products.
