iPad Eve
'Twas the night before iPad, when all through Jackling House
Not an iDevice was stirring, not even a multi-touch mouse;
The banners were hung on Yurba Buena Center with care,
In hopes that St. Jobs soon would be there;
The children were nestled in black turtle-neck threads,
While visions of FaceTime danced in their heads;
And mamma by her Macbook, and I near my Pro,
Had just settled down for a HD photo,
When up on Macrumors.com I sensed such a clatter,
I sprang from the Launchpad to see what was the matter.
A new Safari window open, I flew like a flash,
Searching for news, scouring through iTrash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen tech
The glow of the Apple, much like a sunset.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a Mercedes SL55, and my eye glints a tear.
With a little old driver, so lively and boss,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Jobs.
More rapid than Thunderbolt, his Geniuses they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Schiller! now, Ives! now, Cook and Forstall!
On, Sewell ! on Williams! on, Mansfield and Johnson!
To the top of the stage! to the top of the screen!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away clean!"
As dry Droids that before the wild Blackberry fly,
Who when they met with an obstacle, just stared to the sky,
So up to the press the Geniuses they flew,
With the Fedex trucks full of iToys, and Steven-Paul too.
And then, while in iTunes, I heard in advance
The dancing and chanting, of all Apple fans!
As I flicked through my iPhone, and was multi-tasking background,
Down the aisle St. Jobs came with a bound.
He was dressed in blue jeans, from his waist to his foot,
And his eyes were filled with such a joyous look;
A bundle of rumors he had carried on his back,
he looked like a madman never looking back.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His desktop immaculate, iTunes so varied!
His scroll was inertial,patents drawn up like pros,
And TimeCapsule so thin ,as white as the snow;
Terabytes and more, forever space to grow.
And the rumors encirlced every young mans dream;
An iPad with dual-cameras, large speaker, and Retina screen!
Could there be more from MobileMe?
Who knows? Perhaps it may even be FREE!
Old tech in the past was bulky and slow.
But our eyes back then thought it was a show!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke many words, and went straight to presentation,
And filled all the blogs; who then turned to temptation,
And laying his finger aside of touch screen,
And giving a wonderful iGleam, up the marketshare rose;
as the joyous conference came to a close.
And away they all worked for the next iDelight.
and I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
"Happy iPads to all, and to all a good-night."
