  • Price (apple gouging customers big time because they know they can).
  • Lack of retina display. (I was on the fence for a while with this).
  • No Camera flash.
  • No black front with aluminum back (not a show stopper).

The above are my reasons for not purchasing an iPad mini. I am looking forward to seeing what Apple will trot out for the second version next year. If they have retina display and a flash at the current pricing I will purchase one.

Anyone else with a similar opinion? What are your reasons for not buying one?

Agree with these reasons.

However for me they are reasons the device is not perfect.

I love my Mini, and I have no doubt the iPad Mini 2 will be a better device.

But I'll buy that too :)

Full-sized iPad does not have a flash.
Nexus 7 does not have a flash.
Kindle Fire HD does not have a flash.

Indeed they do not but these are my reasons for not buying an iPad Mini. We all have our own reasons. I would never consider to purchase a Nexus or Kindle.

It was simply my hope that it would follow the design of the iPod touch and get a flash. The mini is closer to the touch IMO than the full size iPad.

Thanks for your feedback and I hope you enjoy your Mini. We will both have new and improved ones next year! Question is will it appear in the spring (6 months from now) or next fall.

I bought a mini on launch day. I'm returning it. Here are my reasons:

1. It's way too low PPI to read my PDFs with.

2. It's way too big for me to "palm" and way too awkward for me to hold by its bezel.

3. The Nexus 7 is $130 cheaper and yet fits all my needs better.

The push was for lightning and updated LTE for iPad 4.
I would say next fall before any refresh especially if its just retina.

The tell will be in 4 qtr report.
