:(
I took my mid 2012 rMBP in to Apple today and, as expected, it failed the IR test.
It's also got a creaky hinge and the left fan is going faster than the right, so they're going to look at that too (cleaning?).
I got the Genius to agree that there was not a mark on it ;)
It should be back in 3 - 5 days.

I was surprised at the price for the new panel - £414 - I thought they were more than that (though I'm not paying).

I'm now on my Vaio AR51SU, which, surprisingly has 5GHz capability
It's a few years old now so I was surprised by that.
I thought the Vaio was quite speedy way back when but it's dog slow compared to the Mac.
And the screen looks decidedly dark and lifeless compared to the retina.

Ah well, that's life. Roll on Friday!

New screen and smooooooooooooooooth hinges again :D
It's also had a new left fan and it's all nice and clean inside.
