Man am I happy!

All this stuff is from IKEA, the bed, bed side table, desk, desk drawers, desk lamp, pencilcups, trashbin, magizene. holders.

EXCEPT for my awsome bookshelf composed of Tetris pieces! Ultimate nerdom eh? A friend and I built them using these instructions.


Thanks to all the people that helped me, mainly TheAnswer.

Please not i am not spamming (mods) the limited amount per post is whats killing me.

My parents ay my room looks like an Apple store with all the birch and stuff :D
 
That's quite inspiring actually, I could do with something like that for me room! Very Tetris, Caroline would flip ( :D ), she's a huuuuge Tetris addictee.

I did the same desk, but with silver legs. Did you get the birch veneer or the birch... well the cheaper one.

I also got a nice bookcase that was the same color on sale. Very nice stuff. Congrats!

Also, could you tell me the name of that file cabinet. I have been looking for something like that.

The drawers are Mikael

They do fit underneath the desk but i like it next to my desk instead. Gives me more room for my feet and such.

It took us a good 3 days to make the shelf. The only thing we did not do was make the bezel it says to do in the instructions. The only bad thing is in the narrow parts books like Harry Potter wont fit, but thats why we have the squares :D. You can make any amount of any piece and make them. The different pieces are not glued/nailed together. So i can change the style anytime i want.
 
Is it just me or is your bed really low haha?


I would get some artwork to hang over your bed.
 
Ohhh! I agree, some classy artwork would work very well!

I'm currently thinking about redoing my room, and these picture have given me inspiration! Job well done.. :cool:
 
I have the Queen size version of that IKEA bed and two 4-drawer dressers (1 for me + 1 for girlfriend). From what I remember, the color is Oak.

When I had the twin size bed I bought one of the higher priced foam mattresses. I really liked it a lot. I bought an even better foam mattress this time. It was a very difficult decision. I considered a latex mattress, too. However, I seem to recall it cost about twice as much as the foam and it had just a bit of bounce. I wanted something that would dampen all vibration. It is much easier to sleep when you aren't bothered by the movement of someone next to you.
 
I really like your room, looks very clean. I have had bad luck with beds with borders such as the one you have, it seems i bump into them one to many times. I had a larger bed which looked smiler but i had to change it after i nearly broke my leg.

Art work...I never thought of that. That would be actually really sweet if i found some abstracts modern piece for really cheap!

do you find that desk to be too short? i was looking to buy one to use as a table, but the leg height made it seem like it would be really low to the ground. is the size fine?
