My safari jpg is gone...

Where did you use those commands (CMD+C, CMD+V, CMD+X)?

Ok, I am going out on a limb here.... do you mean that the icon in the Dock is gone?
If so, just go tp Spotlight in the upper right of the screen and type in Safari. When it launches, right-click on the icon and tell it to Keep in Dock.
You can also browse to your Applications folder and drag and drop Safari into the Dock.

Remove the generic icon for Safari from the dock by dragging it off the dock
Open your applications folder and drag the Safari icon to the dock.
If that doesn't work re-install Safari.

Backspace doesn't work there too?
Does the following file still exist?
Safari > Right-click > Show Package Contents > Contents / Resources / Compass.icns?
If not, you can use the following one (unzipped of course) and put it there.

No need to restart. The icon should change immediately.
EDIT: LOL nevermind. I thought that was your sig and not a confirmation that it worked, haha.
