My Screenshots are not appearing on my desktop?

I use the commands [ Command + Shift + Control + 3 or 4) However they will not appear. I do not know where they are saved and the problem just occured recently. I restarted Finder like a few people told me but still nothing works. They even told me to change the destination in terminal however I did not get that to work. What should I do?

When you also press control, they are copied to the clipboard. Leave it out and they go to the desktop.
