Two weeks ago I purchased a brand new 6 Core i5 3.0Ghz/8G/256GB Mac Mini. Within nine days, it would not boot up, merely display the Apple logo. Returned it to supplier who had no replacement stock, so refunded me. Last week I purchased the same model from another supplier, and with five days, it displayed the prohibitory symbol whilst attempting to boot. (Which I understand means that it couldn't find a valid system folder to start from.) I'll take it back to the supplier. Frustrating!
But two duds in two weeks?
Has anyone else experienced such bad luck (or should I say bad lot)?

when the 2018 model first came out I got an I7 within 24 hours it also could not boot. Apple replaced it with another I7 , that now last almost 2 days but developed a problem reading the ssd that was returned for a refund.

Yeah, there were some problems with the soldered Toshiba SSDs.
