I have a Macbook. I bought the sims 3 last week and it didnt work
I know i meet ALL the specifications 100%- even down to the latest (10.5.7) update.

After installing and pressing the sims 3 icon I got the following message:
Exception raised
Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x0000000 at address 0x100d85a
Do you wish to debug it?

I pressed yes, no, yes again, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, restarted my laptop- everything. Then I realised I only had 1gb RAM, so I upgraded to 2.5gb RAM myself. Thinking this would fix the problem, I uninstalled the game, fitted the new memory, reinstalled game and low and behold i get the same error message!!! After spending a lot of money on that RAM! Im VERY frustrated now- would someone out there please help me?

Have you looked at the Sims 3 homepage if any patches are available, that might solve your problem?

There are no patches :(
Well, there is one, but its for gameplay and you already need to be able to open the game launcher to install it.
