When she tries to turn the computer on all she gets is a white screen. It never boots up and it doesn't show a folder with a question mark it just stays white. What are some options that she can try before she has to bring it to an Apple Store?

Ok booting into safe mode didn't work and neither did resetting the PRAM. Although now it has the flashing question mark folder. I'm going to try to use the install disk when I get home. If that doesn't work looks like we'll be making a trip to the Apple store.

Try reseating the RAM or try to use the computer with only 1 stick so see if it's the RAM.

What reaction from the computer should I look for if I put 1 stick in? What would cause the RAM to come unseated? The computer was working fine then this problem started and I know that she hasn't messed with the RAM or removed it. Also I put her HD in my computer and it did the same thing.
