iPod touch MY SONGS WON"T DOWNLOAD!! help

ok i just restored my ipod touch because it was showing i only had like 20 songs and when i try to resync it only syncs about 100 when theres atleast 300 more to sync. i tried again to sync but it just goes through the process and acts like it deosnt see the songs. Any ideas what i should do to get mt music back on to my ipod.(these songs are not from itunes.)
