so i thought maybe it was the lighting or something but my space grey macbook pro has 2 different shades of space grey. the screen lid, and the bottom lid, have a lighter shade of spacey grey, vs the unibody (keyboard and sides) which have more of a darker shade which i do like more.

has anyone else noticed this? i am under my 14 dyas if a return or exchange is necessary.

then again its kind of cool.

heres a pic: you can see the back hinge, which is part of the lid, and the botton lid have light shades. vs the unibody (the sides/back portion)

Well thats a first, they're definitely different, I just looked at mine and the shading is spot on all around. Did you happen to have a normal boot up when you got it? It didn't say anything like "switchboard" when you first booted up did it?

yes my other 2 replacements were i assume spoton as i didnt notice it. and no this is brand spanking new , built to order straight from china lol.

Would you say this is okay?

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY. You're gonna make a 8 page thread about whether you should return it or not etc and then go through 10 replacements.

no that was more of a serious issue. here im just asking if anyone else has noticed this. i mean, you do notice it too right?

If the guts work what's the problem? You've got a cover on it anyway. Think if as making your Mac unique.

i actually think its cool. but i just dont want tog et roasted for resale value or if a future buyer 3 years down the road questions if it was repaired or something cause the lid or the bottom is different you know?

You need to take off the hard cover and post more full pictures to judge

i took that one cause all the 3 parts of the outside are together, but heres a shot of the lid and the inside. pics dont do justice but its from my iphone camera.:

Whoa, did you say "your other two replacements"??? Are you implying that you have exchanged your new MacBook Pro 3 times thus far?
they kept sending me macbooks with manufaturer scuff marks underneth the left speaker. hence my thread on scuff on my new macbook thread

well jsut concerned this may affect future resale value?

It's definitely white and gold....

....

Relax and enjoy your baby. Life is fleeting.

I did, there seems to be a difference. The outer shell seems darker. It's obviously easier to see in person. If you see an obvious difference I would return it. Do you have a decal on the apple logo?
no thats just a reflection.

sell it as limited edition on ebay and buy a new one

im sitll under the 14 day return/exchange so.....lol

Provided it functions well, I'd keep it.

You've got the limited edition chameleon paint job. That costs a fortune to get with cars. And if it looks like how the picture shows it (i.e., the lighting or flash is not causing what appears to be a progressively deepening color) it looks pretty badass.
