My spotlight views are stuck and useless

Ugh. No matter what I do, my Spotlight searches default with a view that compresses all the columns to one side - making them unviewable (see picture.)

This survives restarts, permissions rebuilds, trashing of the spotlight and/or finder plists, and using any of the finder's view options. What can I do?
