When I try to start up my mac, It doesnt work. A folder icon appears in the center with a question mark, which then changes to the finder logo. (thats as far as it gets)

I'll do anything to fix the problem, even if it means clearing all my files. I have no startup disk though, if that's a problem.

Please help. I'll provide any more information I know if needed.
 
It means no bootable disk was found

I tried everything provided in the article, and nothing worked.

Is there a way to just restart the entire computer from scratch?
 
The problem changes

Now for some reason, a different screen is popping up.

The apple logo comes up as usual, then it goes to a grey screen that says things like the "kernel version" and all this mumbo jumbo, then says at the bottom "panic: We are hanging in there..."

What's this mean? Am I screwed?
