Well I finally received my package from Switcheasy (it took over a week). I just wanted to share a quick first impression and review for you guys and gals.

Out of all the cases I've tried for the iP5, from Belkin, to Griffin, to Incipio, etc...this is def my favorite out of all of them. The fit and feel of this case is simply amazing. I've been reading that this case is hard to take off  I don't see that as a problem at all. In fact, I took off the case 3 times just to see if it was really difficult, it's not. Hit the gym people!

A quick tour around the case will show great tactile feedback volume buttons. The mute/silence switch is very easy to access and isn't a problem. The top is a joy to use compared to the Incipio NGP I just got (Incipio has emailed me and told me they are in the process of fixing the sleep/wake button problem). The sleep/wake on the Tones case gives great tactile feedback and not hard to press at all. The cutouts on the bottom are perfectly aligned and the bottom is not even close to being saggy. The only problem might be using 3rd party headphones. My Klipsch s4i's fit perfectly. The camera cutout is the way I like it (hate the companies that are still using the iP4S huge camera cutout).

So in my opinion, this is the best case available at the moment for the iP5

Pros
-slim and strong w/ great feel in the hand
-slight lay on table design
-cutouts all around are top notch
-minimal branding
-comes with a back screen protector plus 2 fronts and other goodies
-back doesn't show fingerprints

Cons
Honestly, none so far

Here are a bunch of pics :D

Nice case and great photos. Amazing how thin these iPhone 5 cases are compared to the IP4.

This may be the case I get...AFTER my naked 5 gets too beat up and I need a cover up :)

But not before then!

Short but good review, thanks! One question.

Is it possible to scratch your phone when putting the case on or take the case off? Because I saw on youtube reviews it's not that easy to take it off and the inside is from "hard" plastic...

Nice review! Thats a nice blue(not black) case;) do you think it can fit the spigen gas.tr or bodyguardz pure glass?

Looks really good! From the pictures, the middle back looks like a different material from the top and bottom. How does it feel? Is it grippy?

I have taken it off a few times and it doesn't seem to effect the phone. I also installed the back screen protector that was given with the case for a safer peace of mind.

It's easy to take off, I really don't know why people are saying it's difficult.

It def looks black and gray in person. Sorry didn't have time to adjust the white balance :)

Yeah it should def fit with the spigen glass SP. I am using there crystal SP and it fits perfect. The case goes nicely around the case and doesn't go over the top of the glass.

The middle is a hard plastic while the top and bottom is a harder style TPU. It feels great in the hand and gives good grip while not slippery at all.

It's a solid case and doesn't feel cheap at all

Def worth the $25 IMO

Thanks for the review.

Question: Since this case comes with a back and front screen protector (I believe,) are they meant to be used in conjunction with this case? So this case should fit the iPhone 5 with both protectors on, correct?

How's the texture on this one? Grippy or slippy? Something in between?

Thanks for the review.

Yes you are correct

I have a Spigen crystal SP on the front and the included back SP. The phone fits perfectly snug. I wouldn't recommend side/band protectors though. Those would peel right off or not even fit all together.

Not sure how thick is the spigen crystal SP but my original question is the Gas.t or Gas.tr I think is a little bit thicker due to being real glass. Do you think that would be a problem?

If it's able to fit with both screen protectors on, i'm guessing there's a good chance it'll fit if you do just the glas.t and no rear protector. That would be a pricey theory to test out though.

Well the case doesn't wrap over the glass of the phone, so I would think it would work. It would probably give you no lay on table design though since the glass SP is much thicker.

Great little review, and great pictures! I am still patiently waiting for mine. It has been over a week since my "shipping notification".

This doesn't make waiting as bad haha. Thanks!

Great review and thanks for the wonderful pictures. I just received my black tones today as well and I have to say it the best case I purchased for the iphone 5 so far. It makes the candyshell I had on my ip5 look fat compared to the my ip5 with the tones haha.

nice review, thanks!

this appears to be the new model variation of their Eclipse case for the 4/4S, which was one of the highest ratest cases on iLounge and a few other sites.

http://www.switcheasy.com/product/ECLIPSE_iPhone4S

I had that case on my 4S for about 6 months or so and absolutely loved it. the only problem i had was the dock connector cutout was a bit small, so i just carved it out a bit more with a utility knife.

the material they used for the Eclipse was very stiff, but it wasn't hard to get in or out at all

edit: i see that others who had the Eclipse have basically said the same thing in the other thread for this case :D

Looks really nice. I'm ordering one despite not really liking the buttons being covered up. I'm real happy with my Switcheasy Canvas iPad case.

Yours took over a week? I ordered mine last Wednesday and still have not received it as yet

yeah, check the other switcheasy tones thread. that happened to a bunch of us. they sold out of black pretty early on and did not inform anyone or even update their site. i emailed them yesterday and they did in fact get a shipment in and are starting to get them out. i also ordered last week wednesday and this morning is the first time i have seen any activity on tracking. yours should be on its way.
