I own a macbook pro, second edition. I bought it last year.
I choose it to be my only computer.
With the same money I would have bought an imac.

But I move a lot, so a laptop was what I needed.

I am very pleased with it.

I see the new imacs with 19' tft screens and sometimes I think that it would be nice to have one.
On the other hand, my time is divided to home office and exterior work.

How can I ever manage to synchronize all my data and apps between macs, if I had also an imac?

I am an exigent user. When I want synchronization I want the two machines to be identical to one another. Not only same data but same applications too. Same settings on the system etc.

So I think I would have to make sync actions all the time. Would it be difficult and a mess?

I am pleased with my macbook pro.

The only solution that would suit my need is the one futuristic design I saw a few months ago somewhere on the net.
An imac, with a big slot inside its screen, that would accept a whole macbook pro inside!
Something like an imac-docking station. But these are future plans...

I am interested to know if you also have a macbook/pro for your main computer needs.
Are you satisfied?
Do you want something else, additional to the laptop?

.mac performs the kind of syncing you are looking for. However, have you thought about just getting an LCD and hooking your mbp to it?
