I've had my TiBook for about 3 years now, and I've noticed this oddity around the bottom of the display.
I've attached a photo that may be a little difficult to discern, but right about where it says "PowerBook G4" the screen is a little bit dark. Darker than the rest of the screen, though not enough to really annoy me.
Is it just because it's getting old? I'm WAY out of warantee on it and I don't have AppleCare. Replacing the screen would most likely cost over $600, wouldn't it? Is this dark spot going to get worse?
