My Undeleted Deleted Files

I am having trouble deleting a file from my computer. I upgraded a friends iMac to OS 9.2 from 8 something. As a precaution i copied her hard drive to a folder on my TiBook "just in case" of something catastrophic. Evertything went well but I have these hidden files that will not delete from my trash bin. The directories are there but i cannot see the files. When I go to delete it tells me that the files taht i cannot see are locked. How to i get rid of these files?
