Every night I check all my webclips to see if they added a custom icon. Pretty much the only major one left to update is facebook. Why is this so? And why doesn't apple.com have one?

Then it hit me. Facebook will be one of the first released apps. Apple was very fond of their webapp and I'm sure is helping them on development of sdk launch apps. Facebook wouldn't want people getting used to that webclip icon on their springboard with a real app coming. As for apple.com, I believe an iPhone optimized version may be coming?

I may be wrong, but I think it makes some sense. Why else would they not implement the simple icon?Thoughts?

I was under the impression that the normal Facebook has a webclip, but the iPhone version does not, and this is just due to forgetting to update that version of the site.

Either way, why would you need an application for Facebook when you have a perfectly usable version online already. After all you wouldn't be able to use the app offline anyway.

You've got to be freaking kidding me! I just checked the iPhone.facebook.con again and its there! Figures as soon as I post something about it. Holy crap. I had checked the regular facebook site last night and it wasn't there then. And the apple.com icon I had just checked last night and didn't bother today. Took them long enough!

Maybe they did it because I figured out their plan! HAH. Anyway mods feel free to close. Geeze!!

Either way, that was a really stupid theory. No offense, but not adding a webclip icon because they didn't want people to get used to it? How silly is that. How old are you?
