No, you cannot use it on another US carrier. The phone is different than the ones used on AT&T and T-Mobile. However, you can use it outside of the US if you put in a foreign SIM card.

You can't. Even when Verizon unlocks the phone for you it's only for international GSM networks and won't work on AT&T or Tmobile here in the USA.

Your best bet is to sell it to someone who is on Verizon and use the money towards buying the AT&T or factory unlocked model.

The Verizon 4S is capable of CDMA/GSM networks. If you want to use it on US GSM carrier, I heard the method is kind of complicated. You'll have to use a GPP/software unlock sim chip of sort. Otherwise, it can be flashed to other CDMA carriers like Pageplus, Cricket, etc.,.

Unlocking your iPhone is so worth it, and can use the iPhone on any network after it unlocks.

Unlocking is not temporary and I would actually unlock it forever then use the jailbreak way cause once you lose jailbreak, you lose your unlock.

I personally use http://atfdl.com/store/ cause if you find a cheaper price, they match it and they did in quite quick.

I found other sites just from a quick Google search, but some had lots of misspellings and were actually more expensive.

Good luck!

If the Verizon phone doesn't end up working for GSM carriers, u can always sign up with one of the many Verizon's MVNOs. They are reseller carriers who use verizon towers and you prepaid them, which for a lot of people not an issue. Google for Verizon MVNO. Here u don't even have to worry whether you phone is unlocked.

I've also heard and read on this very forum that the Verizon iPhone 5 will also work on AT&T but for 3G only.

Nope, if you buy a VZW iPhone 5, it will fully work on AT&T networks.

Does not include LTE. I figured that was a given, but..I'll put it here now. It won't pick up LTE.

It will work with AT&T GSM and HSPA+ (what AT&T marketing spin calls "4G"); but it will not work with AT&T LTE. The LTE radio in the Verizon iPhone 5 cannot access the bands AT&T uses for LTE.

Unless u paid the early termination fee. No way your 2 year contract with verizon is over.

iPhone 4S was not released 2 years ago. So verizon stopped doing one year contracts also.

Did u buy iPhone 4S used? Or black market? Or full price?
