I got my XS on Black Friday weekend. Its on ATT Next program. Planning to upgrade this year again. I have caudabe sheath case and spigen tempered glass.. I dropped my phone few times but so far so good. I have never cracked my previous phones before. If something internal would happen with my XS before the 2019 upgrade, would that be covered by apple 1 yr warranty?
Do I need apple care for warranty repairs or just accidental damages?

Thanks!

You are gonna upgrade again? I wouldn’t buy AppleCare. You will never make up the apple care when you resell. Put that apple care money aside to safe for the upgrade. You’re covered for warranty for 1 yr. accidents are not covered by the regular warranty. Just get a half way decent case.

I would go for it. The phone is expensive to replace/fix if something happens to it before you upgrade. You can get a refund for the Apple care if you don’t keep the phone for the phone for 2 years.

I have an iPhone X with an the Apple leather case and have some kinda insurance I think but not apple care.

I dont know if that’s a smart idea or not. But I haven’t cracked my phone or anything yet and hopefully everything will be just fine.

The decision should be if you plan to upgrade in 1 year or less, then no. If keeping more than 1 year, it’s not a bad idea
