So I downloaded the Windows 7 files from Microsoft onto my Vista desktop and did this to make it into an ISO. I then burned the ISO with my Macbook Pro (very new, 15-inch). Inserting the DVD into my Vista desktop will call up the "Upgrade to 7" thing. However, Bootcamp Assistant doesn't recognise the disc as a Windows 7 disc, and neither computer will boot from the DVD: the Vista just goes to Windows, the Mac gives me a white screen for a while and then "No bootable disc. Insert a bootable disc and press any key_" or similar.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? I'd rather not shill out the extra money to Microsoft to get the backup DVD.

Unfortunately that's giving me the same problem: once Windows has started, it'll recognise it as a 7 disc, but neither Windows or Mac will boot from it, and Bootcamp Assistant doesn't recognise it.

Never mind! I burned the disc on Windows and everything went off smoothly.
