It says 'This copy of Windows is not genuine' and sometimes the screen stops and when I click around the effects of the clicks can be seen when I go to another window and come back to it. So it works, except I can't see it right when things are being clicked (it's all frozen) unless I come back to it.

My Windows 7 in VMWare acting strangely

What hardware are you using, what VMware Fusion version (I'm guessing you're using Fusion as this is their only Mac product), what settings are you using for your vm, did you install the VMware Tools? In other words, could you give us some more information about the vm and what you've done already?
