MY Wired Mighty Mouse..........

so this is getting annoying... a week ago the mighty mouse's trackball won't scroll up and this week i can scroll up but can't scroll down. This actually happened before with my 12"PB long ago and for some reason it happening to my 20"C2D too. can anyone help?

I used to have luck shooting compressed air around the ball, but that quit working. Now I take a Clorox disinfecting wipe and use it to scroll the ball in all directions fairly hard. So far, it's worked every time. I love the mighty mouse, but its a giant pain.

Sounds like it needs a clean to me too. You could try turning it upside down and rubbing the trackball quite hard onto a sheet of paper to get the dirt out.

Q-tip with a little bit of rubbing alcohol always works for me.

So weird.

I just came on here to see if i could find a solution to this problem.
My MM was working fine, I went to the town and came back, but now my MM won't scroll down. Every other direction but not the main direction.

Gonna go and clean it to see if that helps.

The MM is a great mouse (to me) but they require a lot of upkeeping to ensure it keeps scrolling correctly. Just like everyone else has said, keep cleaning it. I roll mine up and down my (clean) shirt and sometimes i'll use a cleaner as well. it'll start getting weird every 4-6 weeks.

i don't understand why people put up with this.
