My wish for iMac update.

Cosmetic changes such as brushed metal are all well and good, but I'd like to see something more substantial, such as options flexibility. I don't need all the power that a Mac Pro would give me, but I do need more memory (4+ GB for virtual machines, etc) than an iMac will give me. I'd also like to see the video card on a separate card to give the option of upgrading video to prolong the life of an iMac. Or at the very least the option to upgrade the video memory to more than 256MB at a future date.

If the iMac sticks with the laptop chipset (still likely) then you will have to live with a 4GB memory limit.

Right now, the laptop chipset and the 4GB is the biggest hindrance to the iMac as a professional machine.

A desktop chipset would open up quite a few possibilities and really put the iMac squarely between the laptops and the Mac Pro -- instead of basically being equal to the laptops.
