I have been unable to find a specific answer to my wonder about if I can put my wife’s iPhone onto my AppleCare One subscription. I am too lazy to get on Apple Chat. I expect it is looking at the devices in your ‘list’ when you select to add. So, here is what I am doing in the hopes it works. Of course, moot if I find out Apple thought of this or if indeed I can add my spouse’s.

I have my iPhone 17 coming this week with AppleCare One. I have the ability to add devices now. She does not want a 17 and, instead, wants my 16PM. So, I will add my 16PM to AC1 so it is covered. Then, when my 17 ships this week, it will be added to my AC1. I will swap my 16 for the 17 and give her the 16. That will cover both and then when I add my iPad M4 and that will be my 3.

Crossing fingers that it 1) works; 2) is not really necessary because, in truth, you can add someone else’s phone. I will find out soon enough.

I guess, the easiest answer is Apple Chat. Maybe I will bite that bullet.

It's simple: if you and your wife use the same Apple Account (you probably shouldn't if you do), then you can keep the phone on a single AppleCare One plan. If she has a separate Apple Account, then you cannot - AppleCare One plans require that all devices use the same Apple Account, always (Macs that are shared among several users with different Apple Accounts also cause issues.)
