I don't usually post stuff this. But figured after owning almost every iphone I should give back.
. After reading a bunch of info about the 7 plus and its short comings I instantly regretting ordering one. I wasn't unhappy with my 6s plus but I always am baited to buy the latest and greatest.
I got my IP7 plus yesterday, I didn't have very high expectation. In fact this time was different.. I didn't camp out at home waiting for fedex to arrive and rip into setting up my new phone. I am a heavy phone user. I use it for work and personal and have a lot going on at once. On my phone I run Slack, Skype, twitter, facebook, goggle hangouts, airmail, and a bunch of other crap. Most of that is for work. My 6s plus didn't have any issues with running a lot of apps. That being said I am one that plugs in my headphones and charges at the same time.. So the headphone jack was a concern.
I unbox my new 7 plus in black. Look was familiar as everyone has said. Fit and finish seems to be the same as the 6s. I started to set the phone up and noticed it did seem quicker was happy about that. I set it up as a new phone and was messing around with it before I filled it up with all my bloatware.. I was able to restore my stuff and phone still seems quicker. So still happy about that.
Home.. button or whatever they are calling it now. I thought I would dislike this new home button but I like it. I think ios10 runs better. I didn't like the way the button seemed odd on my 6s after upgrading to ios10. So in comparison I like the new button style better so far. Didn't take long to get used to and i have not encountered high levels of frustration using it yet
The camera.. I am not a photographer by any means. I take a lot of photos and videos.. IDK maybe its me. I don't see much of a difference over the 6s with the cam. Not looking to start a debate. I wasn't unhappy with the cam on the 6s plus so I am not unhappy with the 7 plus cam. I am a little disappointed that when fully zoomed its really hard to get a clear shot due to the lack of OIS. Again not a deal breaker.
Headphone Jack. I don't have enough time on the phone to have an opinion yet.. I like the 2 speakers now when playing thru the phone. I am using the Bragi Dash Bluetooth headphones and they nice. BT connectivity has its issues with them but like the wireless. I don't have much interest in the apple airphones. I am going to test out my RHA wired headphones later today.
Battery.. So far its holding better than my 6s. Not enough time to make a real judgement call on that but so far its been slow to drain
Conclusion... I know I am not posting anything that probably hasn't been posted already. But wanted to weigh in on if I thought it was worth the upgrade... I would say this as others have said. If you want it and can afford it then yes its worth it. I just like having the latest version of stuff. So far I am not unhappy with my choice... Now bring on the ip8
