Ugh... like that time in San Fransisco I saw some couple on a G5 Quad w/ 30" ACD, they were using none other than hotmail.
They should rope off all the super-pro machines and disable Safari.

Seriously though, how many of us have computers that are completely overkill for what we do?

I'm thinking about ditching my eMac for that exact same reason. All I do at school is write papers. Do I really need 1.25Ghz, or even 1Ghz? Haha, probably not.

Granted, there are professionals that need that sort of computing power, but I bet the number of consumers that go into an Apple store and walk out with a Mac Pro will never use it to it's maximum potential.

I played on one of the G5s in an Apple store when they first came out (attached to two 30s). I took Photoshop for a spin, got some of my photos off a website and saw what they looked like in SUPER-BIG-O-VISION!

Just give me a large hard drive and I'll be happy. I have almost filled my 60 gig iPod up completely and my iMac is getting close to the danger zone of hard drive space, guess its time to get another external drive.

Oh yeah and you can never have too much RAM!

His MySpace blog entry reads "I was in the Apple store the other day and there was this dork using Photo Booth to take photos of himself to put on MacRumors..." :p

Did you really expect him to bring in hundreds of reels of video from work, and actually do something productive? :p

I saw someone at the Novi store playing WoW on it. Not a bad use, I might add.

Yes!...and also bring in empty cans of DP, open/crumbled up Frito bags, postit notes to stick to the monitor, and stacks and stacks of random papers to spread out to make it more like home.

I just found a really good old friend that I totally lost all contact with on Myspace, and we've reconnected and I'm really happy about that.

How is that bad?

It's bad because we have a lot of followers. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him think. :p You'll figure it out. The others, well...

When you say "Guy" do you mean one that is like 18 or one that is like in his early 20's, or do you mean like a 45 year old man...   :D

cause if he was old, that would be even more funny (and disturbing)

Checking myspace on the 30incher w/ the quad :D Good times. Just like when I went to the Apple store to use Safari on the quad to look up prices on apple's online website.

I never feel comfortable doing anything at the Apple Stores. Always feels like someone's going to ask you to move along. I just bring my PowerBook and try do do something. I wish Michigan had stores with theatres though. Novi and Summerset are so small, and have so much traffic, there is no place to work.

Hey! I resemble that remark. :D

Not that it really matters, but the 30" monitors came out long after the G5s.
