Hey kids,
After a recent round of Software Updates, including the "SMC BIOS Update", I've began encountering this behavior where my MacBook Pro suddenly goes into "standby" without warning. This happens only when the system is running on battery, and the battery is low (perhaps 30 minutes or 25% remaining). When in this "standby" state I can't wake it up by clicking the power button and the white LED on the front does pulsate. If I hold the power button, it powers off entirely (though it does save the contents of memory to disk and recovers gracefully once connected to wall power).
So while the behavior is sort of graceful, the fact that I no longer get a warning such as "Your notebook is now running on reserve power and will shut down in 10 minutes" and then another 2 minute warning is pretty unsettling. I mean, I'm just using the laptop with ample battery remaining and BAMMO Standby.
Anyone else seeing this?
