Mysterious lock sounds

Some time recently my Mac has started playing an 'unlocking' sound when a user logs in. I don't recall it playing this sound before. Anyone know what it is?

The sound is unlike the sounds within Keychain or Preference and sounds like tumblers in a lock being engaged.
