Hardware: iMac G5 1.8Ghtz, 80 (74.4) GB HD
Software: Mac OS X 10.5.8

My parents have an iMac G5, and my mom recently pointed out to me that there was only 1.3GB left. I know their computing habits, so this was quite a surprise to me.

We did a little house cleaning and discovered a backup of a user-folder that was created a while back. We got rid of it, but something wasn't adding up.

After running both OmniDiskSweeper and Disk Inventory X, Disk Inventory X showed a 13.1 GB folder that was labeled similarly to free disk space, but was labeled as "Other files and Folders".

Finder says Macintosh HD has 48.47 GB used.
OmniDiskSweeper and Disk Inventory X say only 35.2 GB is used.

I am aware of the Base8/Base10 methods of counting, that's not the issue. They don't use FileVault, either.

Any guesses as to what that 13.1 GB folder is? Neither program will show is listed. Even showing all files in Finder won't reveal it.

I take it that means you can't find it in a terminal either? Do they run any kind of software (e.g. Photoshop) that writes scratch files? That's the only thing i can think of at this time.
