MyWi connecting Problem

I am currently using the latest version of MyWi 4.0 and it seems that my Windows XP Computer cant join the adhoc network created by my iphone. I have verified that adhoc is enabled in the wireless card, is there anything else that could be causing the trouble. Basically when I try to connect to the network it takes a long time, then windows thinks it is connected to the network because if I highlight the network in Wireless Networks available it says disconnected, but the tray icon shows disconnected, and ipconfig shows that adapter is disconnected too. Any Ideas?

I've never gotten MyWi to connect to my Windows XP laptop (admittedly 7 years old) wirelessly. If I do the USB connection it will work, though
