So I just jailbroke my iPhone 3G (ios4) with Redsnow and everything is working fine with Cydia on it. I want to install MyWi. Question is, do I get it from Cydia or Rock? Any differences?

Actually, I noticed on cydia that mywi 4.0 is available. I assume that it's the same one on the rock store?

It will install Rock, which it uses for licensing.

Yes, and fortunately it does not install Rock Extensions, which were the real culprit in any conflicts with mobile substrate in my past experience. I installed MyWi 4.0 after I upgraded and there are no issues for me. I will get rid of Rock completely once the "No Rock" version is released.

Once you install mywi you can delete rock since mywi is built upon MS.

I had read that after you install mywi and actually pay for and install the license (so no trial mode) you could then go into cydia and uninstall rock and rock estensioms. Not sure if his holds for mywi 4.0 but i think was the case on 3

Thank you.
Now hope we can find someone to try it out on 4.0:D

I did. It doesn't work.

This is what I get when I try to download the no rock version. I've tried several times with the same results. Ive tried reinstalling the modmyi repo and even installing the no rock version without removing 4.0 first. I am open to suggestions as I want Rock off my device.
