I've seen this app in notification centre, new widget for iOS 8 ...

would like to know what it is, as 'Traffic Conditions' being accessible sounds useful to me,

exactly. and it won't show while you are at home.. for obvious reasons.

This was introduced in iOS 7. It isn't anything new or special.

It should show you the traffic to your next meeting or event in your calendar too, assuming you have a location on the event.

Might not be working if you don't have a home address saved, or aren't using the calendar to its full potential.

Trust me. Google maps traffic data does not world wide.

With frequent locations enabled, your phone is always monitoring your location to see where you go frequently and how long you stay there. After it notices a pattern, after a week or so of the same schedule, it'll start giving you traffic information on how long it would take you to where you normally go at a given time.

For example, when I used it on iOS 7, my phone learned that I go to class in the morning and home in the afternoon and would tell me how long it'd take me to get to each place at certain times of the day. I ended up disabling the feature though because even though it's pretty nifty, it wasn't worth the battery drain to me.

Tap the Edit bar at the bottom of the NC page, then push the green plus sign to enable it again.
