naming a file name in iphoto

How do I name the file name of my photos that I have imported. They always have a file name dsc(then a number), or p(then a number), depending on the camera I use. I want to name the files after the title of the folder but I just can't seem to figure it out. I'm a novice to mac and hope to love it soon. Thanks for any help.

Select the photos

Click Photos>Batch Change

then

Set Title to Event Name

or

Set Title to Text
and enter the name manually and check "Append a number to each photo"
