Hi All,

I have a Western Digital (WD) External Hard Drive (Book WD5000C032 500GB). I am trying to transfer files from my computer to the hard drive but am running into major issues with the naming convention, it doesn't accept backslashes (/), commas (,), quotes ("), etc.

Whats worse is if I transfer a folder with any file named in such away it stops the whole transfer up to that point.

Without grunging this out, does anyone have a suggestion? I realize that its not proper to name files with "/", etc. but these are older files I had before I became acquainted with unix and the 'proper' naming convention.

Thanks and any help is appreciated.

Cheers,
ScKaSx

i'm no expert here, but it may have something to do with the file system you chose when formating the drive... (FAT vs Mac OS Extended)

hope that helps...
