The obvious one would be MacBook mini. Or MacBook nano. Or hell, why not just MacBook yocto?

And for the record, while I think they're probably looking into a netbook like concept, I'd be very surprised if they already had a design that fit into their design philosophy at a price point that would be reasonable (not to mention recyclable).

Well, since Steve isn't doing the keynote and this will be the last MacWorld ever, I think it deserves something other than a netbook. Something less...

Useless.

+2, I have a cold feeling instead and I am worried about this Macworld.... could they be trying to downplay expectations? ****ing with everyone for jumping the gun all the time?

If there's no MWSF or WWDC, what will keep the rumor mill going? I, for one, would miss all the anticipation and excitement that builds up before an event, only to turn to disappointment and derision after. :D

We'll still have the iPod event every September, a notebook event every fall, an iMac event every fall, an iPhone event every June, an iMac event every spring, a notebook event every spring, and a Mac Pro event every 518 days.

Apple pulled out of MacWorld New York. MacWorld New York died.

Apple has pulled out of MacWorld San Francisco. It will die, too.

All that is left is WWDC, and since Apple doesn't care about professionals anymore, it would NOT surprise me in the LEAST if this year's WWDC is the last.

Apocalypse!

I'm kinda sad for the end of MacWorld... I loved watching his keynotes. I only started watching the last few.. :( But yea, I want a netbook. I'm thinking of having an iMac and a portable (netbook or MBA).

Unfortunately I have reason to believe that if Apple releases a netbook then the MacBook Air sales will be... well dead.

Maybe something like a MacTablet; I know Tallest Skil is hoping for one.

Mac Tablet -> Mac Touch / Macbook Touch
Mac netbook -> Macbook Nano / Macbook Mini.

I don't see how they would use something else then Macbook in he name, since it's pretty much specify the portable computer part of the brand.

The Mac Mini update seems likely but an entirely new netbook? That seems like quite a stretch considering Steve Jobs flat out said Apple wasn't structured for that market and that they consider the iPhone a sufficient product in the netbook space.

That makes since, but it's most likely to be called a Mac Tablet as oppose to a MacBook Touch.
Since the reason it's called a Mac"Book" and the previous one was called an i"Book" was to signify that it was a notebook computer, but a tablet computer wouldn't be have "book" in it's name since it's not a notebook.

Darn, this will be the last mac world and it will be the worst. Yippie!!!

FYI Apple : Companies send their workers to MW because they want their workers to learn to speak like you. With no SJ in MW09, why pay for it for some unknown speaker?
