I can’t see my iPhone 13s screen in my backyard on a sunny day. But my M4 MacBook Pro’s nanotexture screen looks great.

Is anyone calling for nanotexture displays on iPhones? Is it possible that newer iPhones are brighter than my 13, and these screens wouldn’t be needed? Any rumors of these screens coming to iPhone?

Yes newer iPhones are brighter. iPhone 13 screen reaches 800 nits typical max brightness(1200 nits max when viewing HDR), an iPhone 15/16 screen is 1000 nits typical max (1600 nits max HDR/ 2000 nits outdoor)

The iPhone 15 and 16 line is brighter than your current iPhone.

There are strong rumors of a brighter and potentially anti-reflective display coming to the iPhone 17 Pro line.
