NAS crashed containing itunes library help

So I've learnt a huge lesson. Must back up NAS. My iTunes library was located on the NAS and is looking more and more likely that it is gone . So I need to create a new library back on my Mac. Do I just point iTunes to my Mac or is there a better process i should follow. FYI apps are already stored in the default iTunes location on my Mac.
