I'm running my itunes library from an iomega ix2-200 NAS drive and running into problems with genius update locking up itunes. It gets about half way through and then just hangs, requiring a force quit.
For now I've disabled genius and that resolved the issues. Now I can freely open/update itunes and play music without problem. Ideally though, I'd like to keep genius enabled if I can figure out what the root cause.
As a note, I'm running everything from the NAS - so whenever I upgraded to my new MBP I copied the entire folder (including metadata, music, etc) to the NAS and use Open dialog to choose library. Not sure if that's the right way to do it...
