Hi

I know what you're thinking, another NAS thread!

I have done some research but I'm still unsure which product will tick all the boxes. I am after a NAS, either a single drive or two at the very most.

- Must have good support with Mac OSX
- Allow downloads via NZB independently (no workstation) (can you use a NZB search engine such as NZBMatrix? - I think Synology might do this?
- Work with Time Machine
- Stream video to my iPad/iPhone independently (no workstation)
- Be able to handle large video files, a few gig

Any help would really be appreciated as I'm quite literally overwhelmed at the moment!

Thanks,

Imran

Synology All the Way!

I have a Synology 110j which does all you ask with a VG UI and support. I'm not sure about your 2nd requirement; I know it does bit torrent.

When iTunes 10.0 broke all the NAS iTunes compatible server streaming, Synology was the 1st with a company published patch. (Netgear ReadyNAS forum guys had an unofficial patch first.)

Check out SmallNetbuilder.com. Qnap is another line of NAS that gets good reviews.

I use a 10 year old PowerMac G4, containing a few TB of drives.

Of course you need to know the equipment to buy a good one.
