Since this summer I'm trying to make my Synology NAS to work as local dropbox, but I got a lot of issue with internal software called Cloud Station

some deys ago I found that some files wasn't sync from my iMac to then as ( and to my macbook )

it seems that my model ( DS716+ || ) supports a maximum of 500,000 and actually have 40Gb with 500,916 files

I think synology has great NAS and great software but it needs to be reliable, expecially in file sync because it can turn out in a very big mess.

Since my model isn't an entry level one, I'm not sure if a newer DS218+ would work since it is stated for 1,000,000 files in sync but I would like to evaluate something different.

I need it as a LAN sync storage ( dropbox like ) I would not expose it over internet.
Optimus solution would be to have 100Gb and more than 1,000,000 files in sync but i can trim it down to 50Gb and 600,000 files.
