I've got an older Power Mac G4 Which I'd like to convert to a Network Attached Storage (nas). Is there any software/operating system I can use similar to FreeNAS on a mac platform? From what I've read, everybody says the build-your-own NAS RAID Storage option is better (and less expensive) than buying an off the shelf network NAS. (G-Force MegaDisk NAS/RAID 1TB Ethernet or the LaCie 301161U 2TB Ethernet Disk RAID to name a few) I don't want go out and buy a used PC to run freeNAS when I have 3 Mac machines laying around the house. Any insight is welcome...
