NAS + TP-Link Router + AirPort Express

Hi,

I am looking for a wireless backup solution. Currently, my WiFi works based on an Airport Express which I use to stream music to my stereo.
I now want to incorporate the

Western Digital MyBook World Edition II 2TB (WDH2NC20000)

since Time Capsule is way to expensive and it does not offer FTP-Connectivity.

Knowing that AirPort express will not work with this hard drive in any way, I decided to replace it with

TP-Link TL-WR1043ND
http://www.tp-link.com/products/productDetails.asp?pmodel=TL-WR1043ND

and connect the MyBook to the Ethernet plug of the TL-WR1043ND.
I have two questions now:
a) will this work?
b) can I still use the AirPort Express and connect it to the Network for Music Streaming?
c) has anyone ever managed to expand a third-party network with AirPort Express? I know this is a tough one…

Did the setup worked?

My setup is kinda the same:

I have an MBP connected to the Airport Express.

I want my mac to also connect with TP-LINK TL-WR940N where my FREENAS server is connected to.

Currently not really a clue how I could get this to work

the NAS and the TP-Link router work perfectly now, no problem at all. I did not try to connect AirPort Express yet, though.
What should be possible is to use the AirPort Express as Slave to stream music. You can, however, not expand the WiFi using the AirPort device. It, therefore, is no more than an expensive way to play music. Gonna try this soon and let you know!
